GABRIELA, a General Assembly Binding Women for Reforms, Integrity, Equality, Leadership, & Action, occurs as Filipino organization that advocates women's issues. GABRIELA was founded inside April 1984 & known as around honor of Gabriela Silang, who led the insurrection against Spain in the 2nd half of the 18th century. GABRIELA occurs as network of grassroots organizations, institutions, & software download. Its members require an active stance in issues of poverty, globalization, militarism, violence, health, sex trafficking, and more issues affecting women. GABRIELA has regional chapters inside Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Mindanao; sub-regional chapters in Negros, Panay and Samar and provincial chapters in Bicol and Cebu. These are as well affiliated by having GABNet in the United States.
